Bring your baby for a tummy time workshop and learn the why tummy time is so important for your baby. Get tips on keeping your baby comfortable, learn about optimal toys, and practice your new skills with your baby with the guidance of a pediatric occupational and physical therapist.
Tara Martello is a board certified and licensed occupational therapist who has worked with children with sensory integration dysfunction, autism spectrum disorders, developmental delay, and a variety of other childhood diagnosis. She holds a bachelor of arts in psychology from Villanova University and a master of science degree in occupational therapy from Thomas Jefferson University. Martello has training in Sensory Integration Theory, the DIR®/Floortime™ Approach and the award-winning Handwriting Without Tears® program. She is also certified to use the innovative, evidence-based Interactive Metronome® computer-based program.

This instructional, interactive workshop will introduce caregivers to the benefits of infant massage, massage technique and strokes, massage under special circumstances (including colic), and massaging through the years. Infants six weeks to children 1 year of age may participate, with 1 caregiver.
The program will be led by Nicole Wames, BSN, RNC. Nicole is a Registered Nurse certified in Neonatal Care, as well as an Educator certified in Infant Massage. Her experience with premature and full term infants in an intensive care setting led her to the see the rewards of infant massage first-hand. She promotes a gentle touch massage that has many benefits to children and caregivers alike.
The cost, including all materials, is $50.

“My Baby & Me” is a weekly education support group dedicated to empowering new moms. This is an opportunity to meet other mothers, share and discuss a variety of issues and interact with your baby. Topics will include feeding and sleeping (of course!), as well as child development, soothing fussiness, post-partum depression, self care, returning to work, child-care and much more.
The workshop will be led by Tracy Kardon, LSW. Tracy is a licensed social worker, who received her undergraduate degree at Temple University and a master in social work at New York University. She has an extensive background in medical social work, including pediatric oncology and hematology, spinal cord, brain injury and stroke services. She also has experience facilitating groups with various populations.
Wednesday classes will be held at CCP.
Cost for the entire program, including all materials, is $200.
Fridays 12 noon – 1:30pm March 30th – June 1st
“My Baby & Me” is a weekly education support group dedicated to empowering new moms. Now, with the support of our neighbors at Grow Thru Play, we are expanding the sessions for toddlers through 1 year of age!
This is an opportunity to meet other mothers, share and discuss a variety of issues and interact with your baby. Topics will include feeding and sleeping (of course!), as well as child development, soothing fussiness, post-partum depression, self care, returning to work, child-care and much more.
The toddler session will meet at Grow Thru Play – 1636 South Street – just down the block from our office!
Cost for the entire program, including all materials, is $250.
Every Thursday 10:00 – 11:30am
How do I know if my baby is getting enough? Why do my nipples still hurt? Is it normal for my baby to be feeding all the time? Come join our breastfeeding support group to get these and many other questions answered, while meeting new moms from the neighborhood! There will be a scale available for weight checks, and to see how much your baby is transferring from the breast.
Linda Derbyshire will be facilitating the group. Linda is certified by her profession’s highest governing body, the International Board of Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC).
The cost is $15 per class. Walk-in’s will be accommodated on a first come, first served basis.
Tuesday, March 6th 6:30-8pm
In this one-session class, expectant parents will learn breastfeeding techniques to get them off to a good start, steps for successful breastfeeding and information for coping with common problems that can occur in the early weeks. Linda Derbyshire, BS, IBCLC will be facilitating the group.
Please bring a life size baby doll to class. All other materials will be provided.
The cost of the class is $35 per couple. Space is limited and advance registration is required.
Wednesday, March 7th 6:30pm
Steve Zelinger, Esq., an attorney at boutique estate planning firm Rabil & Kingett, LLC will teach parents the basics behind wills and trusts for their kids. While many new parents think that drafting a will is only for the elderly, there are numerous reasons why this is a great gift you can give to your family at any time.
Find out why you must properly name guardians (and how to do it right!), why any parent of minors needs a trust to distribute assets and how you can be sure you have a plan in place for any situation. Steve loves working with young families and has a 3 year old of his own!
Steve will also enlist the help of a licensed insurance professional to help explain the various options for life insurance and how it fits into any budget. Life insurance is often the backbone of the wealth a young family and plays a vital role in young family estate plans.
The cost for the class is $10/person or $15/couple.
Thursday, March 15th 6:30-8pm
Come hear how to more effectively listen and respond to your children's feelings to create a more peaceful and cooperative environment. Learn strategies on how to head off tantrums, teach children to manage their emotions and build respect between children and adults.
Participants will receive a booklet summarizing the tools they've learned as well as 2 complimentary phone coaching sessions with facilitator Brandi Davis, parent coach and author of the book "OK I'm A Parent Now What?"
Class is $15/person and $25/couple and includes all materials.

Marisa Piccarreto is a dedicated mother of three young children, community activist, and founder of My Fabulous Mama, LLC, Center City Philadelphia’s first and only full-service baby planning service. Marisa promotes great city living and assists new and expectant parents in organizing their lives and homes to successfully meet the challenges of urban parenting.
Marisa is a member of the International Association for Child Safety and assesses homes for child safety. She believes that effective baby proofing is a function of both the features of your home and your personal parenting dynamic.
This session focuses on assessing your home for child safety, with an emphasis on maintaining a safe environment as your child grows and recognizing unexpected risks both inside and outside your home.
The cost for the class is $35 per person/$55 per couple. Parents of infants and small toddlers are encouraged to attend, as well as expecting parents. Infants 6 months and younger are also welcome.
